Jyotsna Bhamidipati
The woman with the light
A self portrait inspired by the painting of Ravi Verma, an Indian painter from 18th century pre-independence India whose work was influenced by Dutch Masters and the cultural elements of India from that time period. I have been working on this personal project recreating images from the paintings of Ravi Verma with members of my family including self-portraits and props and outfits that I already have and saris that have been passed down within the family.
